Commissioned this spring, this 24″  x 24″ x 8″ cedar box was built to house one of Cortney Heimerl‘s beautiful handmade quilts. The inlay work on the top includes ebony, yellowheart, and holly.

In April I helped out with Escuela Verde‘s ‘Free Little Libraries’ project. Escuela Verde is a public charter school in Milwaukee that is “designed to support students interested in sustainability, student-led learning, and restorative justice.” Pretty awesome, right?

Students assembled, painted, and installed six free libraries. These bird-house-shaped libraries were scattered throughout the surrounding neighborhood for communal use. I had a lot of fun working with the students. Thanks Bethany for asking me to be a part of this cool project! Bethany, who is a friend and an advisor at Escuela Verde also gets all of the photo credits.
